Kagami Series — from Tosa, Japan. This premium series mixes a clean polished Migaki finish with a Tsuchime Damascus pattern that gives the blades a really nice contrast in person. You get that reflective mirror-like finish mixed with the more traditional hammered texture, without looking overdone or flashy.
Made from VG10 stainless steel at around 61 HRC, the Kagami series was built to be an easy high-performance daily driver. Great edge retention, good corrosion resistance, thin geometry, and easy enough to maintain without turning kitchen work into a science project.
One thing we really liked when these arrived was the finishing. Rounded spine corners, smoother choils, cleaner polish work, better comfort in hand… they simply feel more refined than a lot of the typical VG10 factory knives out there.
And as a final touch, every blade is hand engraved the traditional way with the Kakushin Kanji, giving each knife a little more character and making no two feel 100% identical.
